Events

Sunday Mass is celebrated at St Philip Neri Church at 6pm each week during term-time.  Tea and coffee are served after Mass.  Usually there is a social for students organised by CathSoc. 

Weekday Mass (during term-time)  Lunchtime Mass is celebrated on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 12:30pm; sandwiches and tea/coffee are available afterwards.

Saint Vincent de Paul Society   Sundays after Mass   An active outreach group reflecting on local poverty, responding to the needs of the homeless and refugees in loving service.  We have projects with the Missionaries of Charity in Seel Street helping with the Meal for the Homeless and the Night Shelter and Rodney House Residential Home in Canning Street.  The SVP national website: www.svp.org.uk and visit the 1833 (universities) page. 

Ecumenical Morning Prayer   Mondays at 10:15am   Short time of prayer and reflection for staff and students in the LJMU Quiet Space (room G19), John Foster Building, Mount Pleasant. 

CathSoc Forum Night   Tuesday evenings   

We will have five sessions using "Catholicism", the dvd presentations by Father Robert Barron.  Visit www.catholicismseries.com  See "term card" page for each evening.  Food will be served as part of each evening.

Taizé Prayer   Wednesdays at 7pm   Through the gentle singing of chants, silence, Bible readings and shared prayers for our world we offer the peace and ecumenical spirit of Taizé.  Visit the Taizé community website: www.taize.fr/en 

Ecumenical Prayer Breakfast   Thursdays at 8:30am  Short time of prayer and reflection for staff and students followed by breakfast at Faith Express, at the rear of the Foundation Building on the corner of Mount Pleasant and Brownlow Hill. 

Jesus Youth Prayer Group   Thursdays at 5pm  This group meets for an hour of prayer, praise and reflection.  For more information about this international organisation consult their website: www.jesusyouth.org
